Prostate Enlargement And Its Ayurvedic Treatment

Inflamed or swollen prostate is called as prostatitis. It is very common for the prostate gland to get enlarge as man ages. This condition is named as BPH (Benign prostatic hyperplasia) or benign prostatic hypertrophy. It rarely causes symptoms before age 40. However more than 50 percent of men in their sixties and as many as 90 percent in their seventies and eighties have some or more symptoms of enlarged prostate.

  • Prostate gland is present in males beneath the bladder that produce most of the fluid in semen.
  • It produces milky colored fluid that nourishes and transports sperm out of the penis during ejaculation.

  • Only about half the men with prostate gland enlargement have symptoms that become noticeable enough for them to seek medical treatment. In some men, symptom eventually stabilize and may even improve over time.
  • Complications of BPH can include damage to kidney, bladder, kidney stones, urinary  retention etc.
